| Procedures: | 1. I will first have the children sit at their
computers in the lab and present my Powerpoint presentation concerning
fragment sentences.
2. During the presentation, I will work with the whole class in correcting the fragment sentences found in the presentation. 3. After presentation is completed, I will have each child open up a word document called “fix” that I have previously installed on the computer. 4. Each child will have approximately 5 sentences fragments, which they will turn into complete sentences. Also, the students will have 5 sentences to classify as a fragment or a sentence. 5. Students will print out copies of word document. |
| Unique Learner: | These students will receive help from my cooperating teacher and me. Also, they can work with partners as well. |
| Assessment: | I will use the print out of the sentence fragments to assess student understanding. |
| Closure: | I will say: Fragments are commonly seen in advertisements. Find a magazine ad or Internet ad containing at least three sentence fragments. |
| 1. Underline all the fragments in the ad.
2. Rewrite the ad, turning the fragments into complete sentences. 3. Explain why you think the writers of the ad chose to include the fragments. |
