Whitney pulled away from him while in the middle of the dance floor. You must be mistaken. She couldn't say she was happy to be within Brent's arms at this particular moment, but she was grateful for an easy escape from Ryon. Drunk or not, Whitney knew better then to admit to any of Brent's friends about her involvement with the rebels.
I cant believe you got drunk in front of all the people I deal with, he said lowly. You think this is funny, dont you?
She attempted to pull away, but he held her against him with added roughness. His stare was cold.
Don't even attempt to embarrass me further by causing a scene. I'm not in the mood for your attitude, and I will make you sorry if you try anything, he snapped lowly. He hadn't missed a stride during the slow dance even while tearing into her. He no longer looked in her eyes but continued with the dance. I can't believe you got drunk.
I'm sorry if I embarrassed you, she said softly.
No, you're not, he growled in anger. You're not sorry about anything.
Whitney leaned on Brent as she became more dizzy from her drinking. Brent groaned softly in disgust and helped keep her on her feet.
I don't wish to discuss this with you any further, Whitney muttered softly.
Fine, I'll deal with you when we get home, he remarked bluntly. He held her even closer just to keep her on her feet. Whitney had to rest her head on his shoulder. She was almost unable to hold her own head up. Whitney could smell the faint scent of Brent's fading cologne. He wore a very stimulating scent, although she was almost certain it was because she drank too much. For a moment, shed almost forgot she hated him. |
