KOON
Not so fast.
The creature is captured in an invisible bubble. The creature attempts to claw its way out of the bubble then becomes still. Koon shakes his head with a look of disappointment.
KOON
How did you manage to get out?
Koon waves his finger and the creature vanishes. Reggie suddenly gasps and takes a step forward. She stops and looks at Koon.
REGGIE
What have you done with my brother?
Koon looks back to Reggie and offers a charming smile.
KOON
That was your brother?
(pause)
I can't say I notice any family resemblance.
Reggie's expression quickly turns harsh.
REGGIE
What did you do to my brother?
Koon appears humored by her hostility and aggression.
KOON
He decided to join my society.
REGGIE
You just now sent him away against his will. I don't think he had much of a choice in
the matter.
Koon maintains his charming smile and casually approaches her. Reggie stands her ground, despite her apparent fear. Koon pauses before her.
KOON
Your brother contracted my services. I granted his wish, but he was unable to repay me.
In accordance with our contract, he's legally bound to serve me in my world. It's quite
cut and dry.
REGGIE
Contract? Show me this contract.
KOON
Sorry, the details of a contract are confidential.
REGGIE
How convenient.
Koon studies Reggie with some surprise then appears humored.
KOON
Oh, you are a feisty one. Obviously you're not satisfied with the end result of my
contract with your brother.
REGGIE
No shit.
KOON
I could return him to his former state, but that would involve you entering into a contract
with me as well.
REGGIE
What sort of contract?
KOON
I'll restore your brother to his mortal state if you complete the simple task he failed to complete.
REGGIE
If it was that simple, my brother wouldn't be an eight foot tall lizard.
Koon chuckles softly and paces before her.
KOON
Nothing is ever as easy as it first sounds, but I doubt you'd have much trouble completing
any task put before you.
REGGIE
What's the task?
