INTRO: How things can change in just one week? In one event, Shawn Storm was out of the International Title Tournament, and his fiance Lilly was back in the tournament. Not only that, but Shawn Storm's original mentor returned to the SWF in his match. To say it's been a chaotic twenty-four hours is a understatement as the last time we saw Shawn, his relationship with Lilly was exploding right infront of him. Lilly's "friendship" with Lucas Knight has spurned some serious turmoil between what was the hottest couple in all of sports entertainment. The fight on the way home was as heated as any domestic violence situation, and as Lilly got out of Shawn's truck the two couldn't even look at each other. Lilly didn't even get the door closed before Shawn sped off into night. Which leaves more questions then answers...like where is their relationship at right now? The wedding has been put on delay, so will it ever happen? Will Lilly go see Lucas in the morning? Where exactly is Shawn going? What is going through his mind? All these questions and no answers. But maybe we will get a few as we catch up with Shawn shortly after leaving his driveway.
PART 1:
The scene opens on a high lookout over a beach and the ocean. It still very late at night, or early in the morning pending on how you look at it. A light fog is raising off the water as headlights in the distance cut the darkness of the night. A slight rumble can be heard as the vehicle gets closer and closer to the high overlook point. It is only a few moments before the vehicle gets close enough to identify....it's the custom 06' F-150 Supercrew belonging to Shawn Storm. The same truck that sped away from his fiance only hours earlier. But as the vehicle pulls up to a stop it looks as if two people are in the cab. The truck slowly rolls to a stop before the reverse lights kick on. The lifted F-150 backs up to the overlook and comes to a stop, a moment passes and the truck shuts off silencing the rumble of the exhaust. The door swings open on the driver side and Shawn steps out of the truck, closing the door behind him. He walks around the front of the truck and opens the passenger door. A famaliar face to the old Dynasty Wrestling community steps out of the truck, it's backstage reporter Stacy Wright. A close personal friend of Shawn's, and currently an aerobics instructer at one of the local Miami gyms. She steps out of the truck and Shawn shuts the door behind her. The two walk back to the rear of the truck and Shawn lets the tailgate down. He assists Stacy up onto the tailgate and then hops up on the tailgate as she did. The two sit there for a moment without saying anything looking out over the beach and into the seemingly endless ocean.
"You know, I'm glad you wasn't mad when I knocked on your door this late. I figured you would have flipped with someone trying to get in that late," Shawn says with a smile.
"No it's ok, I am always up this late. But if it had been anyone but you, there could have been trouble." she says laughing.
"I'm sorry, I just needed your opinion on a few things. I'm completely lost on my relationship, and you have always been there for me." Shawn says looking out over the ocean.
"Well I would ask you if everything was going ok, but obviously it isn't. So what's wrong?" she asks as she stares over at Shawn.
Shawn takes a deep breath and sighs. He looks over to Stacy and says, "Well Lilly and I was going to be married later today, but she put that off because she wanted to meet another guy to discuss her upcoming match. So I exploded on her tonight and demanded she stay away from him. When she wouldn't agree I left her standing in my driveway."
"You did what?" Stacy asks in a surprised voice.
"I left her standing in the driveway. I mean she wouldn't understand that I wanted to get married tomorrow. It's like her career was the only thing she was thinking about. Regardless of what was best for her and I both." Shawn explains.
"I understand the wedding deal, it's just short of insane to blow off a wedding over a meeting to further your career. I do agree with you on that. However, why would you leave her standing in the driveway? Do you think there is more going on then you know about?" Stacy asks.
"I don't know. She has been in some akward situations with this guy before though. Like a couple months ago she was trying to collect a bounty by taking back a championship title from this guy and he was naked when she talked with him. Then, this past week she mistakenly took a shower in his lockerroom. You know, a lot of little things, and nothing I can say for sure." he says looking back out into the night sky.
"If you are just going on your gut reaction, and don't really know for sure how can you explode on her like that?" Stacy asks with concern.
"I don't know, I just don't trust him. It's nothing against Lilly, I just don't trust a lying son of a bitch like Lucas Knight. As a matter of fact, if I didn't already have a match with Sully Sphinx, I would have challenged Knight to a match and whooped his ass like he stole something." Shawn says as his temper starts to work up again.
Stacy looks at Shawn as he starts to fill with rage. She tries to comfort him by saying, "Calm down Shawn, it sounds like you need to go home and have a long talk with her. But you can't get mad anytime you hear something you don't want to. You need to find out if anything has happened, and what she wants. But you have to keep your cool and don't lose your temper. Right now your temper is your own worst enemy, and you need to repair your relationship with Lilly. Just look at this past event...you lost because of your distractions. You need to keep your focuse and not lose another match. Don't think I don't watch the SWF, and don't think I know that you couldn't be undefeated right now and still be in the International Tournament."
"Alright, when I get home I'll have a long talk with her. I'll try to keep my emotions in check as well, because I have to get past this. At SWF Come Out and Play I face Sully Sphinx, and that will be no easy challenge. He's just short of being considered a monster. Not that I haven't Switchbladed big, tall, lenky, motherfuckers before...but I can't be distracted going into this match. I need to have my head on straight, and get another win. Participating in the first hour is not someplace I like to be. The main event is where I belong."
"Of coarse you belong in the main event. But losing matches will not take you back there. You need to get your personal life in order, and then your career will fall into place. I have seen SUlly Sphinx in person, and his nickname fits. He really is a big dawg, and if you go in with your head other places you may end up with your shoulders on the mat. So settle your differences with Lilly, set a new wedding date for the next week or two and get on with your life. You both will benefit from it." Stacy explains.
Shawn looks over and smiles at Stacy, "You have been such a huge benefit to my career Stacy. I don't know if I would have came this far without some of your advice in the old Dynasty Wrestling. So I'll take your advice, I'll reconcile with my fiance, and then I'll go on to Come Out and Play to defeat the selfproclaimed Big Dawg. Hell, after I beat him I may go outside the ring and piss on his motorcycle. I know how important those are to him, and I think that would be the perfect ending to the perfect beating I put on him."
"Don't get too far ahead of yourself just yet. You still haven't went and talked to Lilly yet." Stacy says smiling at Shawn.
"I guess I should probaly take you home then, and get headed back home. I'm sorry for dragging you out here this late and all, I just needed some good advice and I couldn't think of anyone who gives better." Shawn says as he hops down off the tailgate.
"Well maybe the next time you could just call me." Stacy suggests as she slides down from the tailgate.
Shawn reachs up and slams the tailgate shut, "Maybe the next time I will." Shawn says as he leads Stacy to the passenger side. He opens the door for her and she climbs in, he shuts the door and starts around the truck.
"I sure hope you are home Lilly, and didn't go where I think you were going to go." Shawn mumbles as he goes around to the driver side. He opens the door and climbs in the truck. He shuts the door and the engine roars to life.
The scene closes as the truck begins rolling forward. The pipes grow louder as Shawn accelerates finally turning on his headlights. It's only a few moments before the lights are overtaken with darkness and the sounds of the exhaust come to a silence in the distance. The scene fades to black. Scene closed.
