Work has begun on the new parking lots at Shotwell Stadium. The grass fields on the North and West sides of the stadium are being paved and a new main entrance is being constructed along Hwy. 36. The parking lots are being funded by a voter approved increase in the hotel/motel tax. Additional rennovations are also planned that will improve locker and press facilities. On May 15, 2004 the Abilene voters approved several bond packages for the AISD. One of those packages includes $3 million to be used on further rennovations. |
