Li'l Ole Me

Hello I see some of you have made it back to this little commentary section. For that I thank you.

Another week begins as usual the only thing different than the last few months is that this weekend did not have much time with me feeling down and out because I am single. Of course the fact that Friday and Saturday I really didn't feel well enough to care about that type of crap might have something to do with it. I am kind of becoming accustomed to not having a significant other. I might not exactly like it but I don't need to rush into anything either. I still wake up some mornings feeling lonelier than I have ever known but hey I am sure alot of people with lovers feel the same sometimes too.

I try not to worry about my chances with women anymore because the more you try the less likely it is of happening. At least as far as I have seen. So I lay low and just enjoy my time with my friends and let them worry about trying to hook me up. They can try all they want, it's just that much less work I have to put into it. I kinda like being the only single one amongst us at times. Most likely by the end of the year I will be the only single one and the only one not married besides Ozzy. No big deal the bachelor life is not all that bad, don't know if I want it forever but it is not bad for now. Someday the woman of my dreams will be in my life, whether it be a new one or one from my past I won't know until the time arrives, so I will just kick back while I can. Well I will at least for a little while until I start thinking about it again. Then you will probably get another whiny commentary.

This last weekend we managed to take Sally out for her birthday and get her a "wee bit tipsy". It was fun for all and quite enjoyable. I even got to see a cousin of mine, Jill Johnston, that I hadn't seen in about eight years. To end the night, Alan got up on stage with Flake and sang with them on Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'". He was nervous as hell but we mellowed him out with free drinks and he rocked the place. Then it was organizing the drivers for all of our vehicles. Due to different schedules we ended up with four cars there so I couldn't very well drive them all back but we got it worked out and everyone got home OK, which of course is the best part of the night.

The weekend was capped off by the "Spring Festival" at Garner's. They had about five bands and solid music from about 2:00 P.M. until nearly 10:00 P.M. P-Man went with me for a few hours. We finished watching the NASCAR race there and hung out a while. He went home and I stayed until it was over. All the bands were good and I knew alot of people there so it was a cool night. Even if there was a drunk chick there that I went on one date with after high school. She is an alright person and all but she was drunk and clingy which didn't help the whole woman-getter scheme (not that it works all that well anyway). Then it took an hour for me to talk her into let me drive her home because she was too drunk. She still didn't let me, (which is probably a good thing because I think she was hoping for a little more than a car ride and I wasn't interested) but I tried.

Interesting weekend which seems to be leading into an okay week. I even hung out with Bootie's family for a while just like the good ole' days. Ruthless (his mom) and I always got along real well, even though it sounded like we hated each other. It was good to have a good rip-on-each-other session with her again. She now has this webpage address so maybe she will stop by and read this. If she does I want to say this to her, "Get the hell outta here, Ruthless. I don't think anyone gave you permission to read, ya ole hag!!!!" Of course she knows I am just kidding.

I also saw one of my best friends from High School, my study hall buddy Jamie Dawdy. She and I always had study hall together and we would always talk about the B.S. going on in our lives. I hadn't seen her for over a year and we had a nice chat. She is still as cool as ever. The night before I saw my first and second elementary school girlfriends, Mandy Castleberry and Amanda Farris. Of course I am sure their last names are different now but that is how I will always know them. On Friday night I got to see Dusty again as well and it was nice to see him. He also brought along Doug and Denise Smith both of whom I hadn't seen for quite some time. So let's see, I saw my cousin Jill, a drunk that always wanted me (we will refer to her as "K"), Jamie, Dusty, Doug, Denise, Mandy, and Amanda, I guess it was just one hell of a reunion like weekend. I really enjoyed seeing all these people from my life and I am going to try and keep in touch with them from now on. I got almost all of their phone numbers, so maybe I can get a party together of old friends and family before too long. Even though I have always been totally against it, I kinda wished I had gone to my class reunion now, but I guess I see most of the people I gave a crap about pretty often.

I also want to tell everybody to check out a few awesome new albums. The most surprising thing is none of them are Smashing Pumpkins albums! I didn't say they were better than a Pumpkins' album but they are good. The first is Alanis Morissette's "Under Rug Swept". This is a great album that is a little on the light sound side but none the less it rocks. I am a big Alanis fan that appreciates the truthfulness of her music. The second is P.O.D.'s "Satellite". This album contains both "Youth of the Nation" and "Alive" as well as many other great tracks. They have a unique sound that blends Skah, metal, and hip-hop together to create a great sounding album. Alanis I would recommend to anyone and P.O.D. I would recommend to those of us with heavy tastes in music. Oh yeah you should also check out EVERY SMASHING PUMPKINS ALBUM EVER MADE!!!!!!

You all knew that was coming. Well I am going to ditch out on this long winded commentary. Before I do I will leave you with yet another witty line of Coopedaddy's propaganda. Here it goes.

Many people in attempts to be nonconformists may leave the social norm to be involved in something that they feel is different than society. In doing this they may not be conforming to the social system but they are molding themselves and conforming to another group. The only way to really be different and nonconforming is to be yourself. We are each unique in our own little ways.

Movie of the Moment:

Apocalypse Now

In my opinion the best war movie ever made. Martin Sheen is a special forces officer sent into Vietnam to take down an American general gone rogue. This film features many common catch phrases muttered every day but not many know the origin of them. Phrases like "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning" and "the horror, the horror". Along with the many catch phrases there is plenty of action, story, and plot within it as well, not to mention the killer soundtrack that makes it feel like a two hour Doors Music Video. Excellent war movie with an excellent soundtrack what more can you ask?

Smashing Pumpkins Song of the Moment:

Hello Kitty Kat

Say hello before you say goodbye
I should go before you make me cry
She wants to bleed every drop inside of me
But I aim to please the little girl inside of me, too

Yeah, yeah
You know i hate to say it
Oh no, I always stay
I don't want to be like the others, please

Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?
If I show you how,
Will you let me down?

Slit my wrists and die a whore
Love to love to love what you adore
I can give you anything,
But please let me be your everything... please

Yeah, yeah
You know I hate to say it
Oh no, I always stay
I don't wanna be like the others, please

Who is sorry now?
If I show you how,
Will you let me down?
Will you let me down?
Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?

My love is weakness
My love is oh so wrong
My love is sadness
My love is oh so strong
My teeth are razor sharp
My love is fucking strong
I'll be with you
But not for long

Oh, oh, oh

Yeah, yeah
You know I hate to say it
Oh no, I always stay
I don't wanna be like the others, please
Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?
If I show you how,
Will you let me down?
Will you let me down?
Please let me down
Please let me down

(song's over)
