Welcome back everyone to another year of Coopeadaddy's commentaries! I am truly sorry I have not been able to get a commentary up earlier but work has been having me zig zag across the country. That is good for the extra time off that comes with it but bad for the social life during the trips. The New Year has come and gone and unlike last year this time, my outlook on this year is very bright. I have a new girl that I really enjoy being with. Her name is Cathy and she is hell bent on blasting the shit out of me with paintballs. Her brother is the owner/operator of an online Paintball store called Paintball to Go (click on the name to check it out). She is a hell of a girl. This year is also the year that my bud, Ozzy, turns 21. At the time of this writing he has only 2 more weeks to go. Then I am going to take him out for a birthday to remember (I'm gonna make him puke, HA HA). Of course he will remember it though, because it will be the first time alcohol has ever touched his lips (yeah right). I am going to cut the updates very short for today because I have a purpose to this commentary. That is what I want to get to right now. The other day I was going to the local Super-Wally world to pick up some groceries. As I was cruising the parking lot looking for a spot, I saw a guy changing a flat tire on his car. People were strolling by staring but not offering any help, hell I even saw one lady giggle and point. So I found a spot and parked. Then I started to walk toward the door. As I got closer to the man I saw that he was in a handicap spot and, although he was getting the job done, struggling to remove his tire. He looked like he had a loss of motorskills due to a stroke or something but he was not asking help. He was dilligently working on his tire. I stopped him and asked him if he needed some help and he replied he just couldn't get the last nut loosened. I took his spot at the tire and began taking off the nuts. I asked him how long he had been working on it, and he replied a half an hour. This royally pissed me off at how our society has become. Everyone is so selfish and in so much of a hurry that they just pass someone up in need of assistance. I am not saying I am Mr. Perfect, I am only saying that for half of a hour this man had struggled with this flat tire while people just walked right by. I had no intention of walking by and letting this nice man struggle for an hour longer, who knows I might be that man someday and if I don't help him how can I expect someone to help me. So I took five minutes out of my time to replace this tire for him. When I was done he offered me money as thanks, I told him to keep it and just enjoy his day as thanks to me. He once again thanked me and went on his way. As I walked away it made me feel great to know I helped someone out, but I was still pissed at the general public for allowing him to struggle that long without offering assistance. I guess what I am really trying to say is that we should all just stop and think about things. If we were in that persons place would we want some help? If we were in any situation where a little assistance would benefit would we want someone to? We are all people, no matter our color, creed, religion, or race we should take each others hands and help one another. It is the only way we will ever survive by bonding together. Help each other, Love each other. Adam B. Cooper
