Ryan’s 4wd Pages

I was bought up on a farm in South Canterbury approximately 3 hours south of Christchurch, New Zealand. Ever since I was a little kid I have played in the mud with my bikes and toys. As life progressed bikes and toys evolved to the farm motorbikes, tractors and the Holden 1 tonner ute. Of course the Holden sucked in the slick stuff and the new Toyota Hiluxes (Tacoma I think in the States) that were being advertised on TV at the time by a couple of blokes looked pretty damn cool. These guys (Crumpy and Scotty, legends in NZ to the uninformed) could make the Hilux do anything from climb a cliff to scream flat out through mudholes that would just drown the Holden (unless of course it is a Holden Overlander). From here on I just wanted to get a 4WD. After a year of owning a car it got the flick and I was into a 4WD. |

Disclaimer
These pages are about my experiences with 4WD’s in New Zealand. Most of the information I have gathered through surfing the net, talking to other 4WDers and my own experiences. So go forth take any info you want and enjoy my pictures but please do not take anything as gospel. My experiences have led me to believe that nobody tells the truth the first time, especially if it will sound better when slightly exaggerated (how big was that fish?). I have included a few of my favourite links that are a good source of info.
