The Prince in the Park

You were my fatal attraction, Id given up my search.
Emotions stirred and rose inside  and I saw the reason why.
I heard your broken song of love as it drifted on the wind.
More beautiful than Id ever seen like a rainbow in the sky.

My heart went out to you the moment you appeared.
Theres only one thing missing, theres no smile on your face.
The gifts you have would tempt a king of all his worldly goods.
To not have found the one you love is certainly no disgrace.

I have to find a way to ignite the sparkle in your eyes.
It appears a tiny cloud has hovered, blocking out the sunshine.
But what can I a mortal do that angels have neglected.
If only Id found you years before, besides just in my mind.

Had I know Id find you I may have been more prepared
I never expected you really existed, figments of imagination.
The doubt and fear you radiate chills my broken heart.
How could someone hurt you so, the most wonderful creation.

I saw her rise as if to go then I saw the miracle happen.
The smile lost so long ago had magically appeared.
Our eyes met in disbelief as she stood frozen there.
The sparkle in her eyes was sunlight off her tears.

The story Id found she was told to wait there by the bench.
Someday her prince shed find when her smile returned in tact.
We slowly walked our stare unbroken and met in warm embrace.
Now with children by our side we retrace a well worn path.
