| Sky Dancer In Red Long and willowy with raven hair she danced on silver wings. She changed her partner from the golden sunset turning grey. Waltzing in the copper light her shawl spun from gold. Orange, red and yellow, late colors of the day. The last dance of autumn with crystals in the air. Frost starlight twinkled from rays of the moonbeams. Music from the howling wolf as mournful cries were heard. The whisper of the owl as its eyes glowed neon green. The moon appeared a brilliant white to lighten up her way. Shadowed figures came and absorbed the glittered stars. Spirits of the night had gathered round close to watch. By day they were silver clouds across the land so far. Legends passed around the campfire as he pointed to the sky. The storytellers of long ago had passed them on to him. No written records but heartfelt passion for our way of life. Some were painted symbols, but then told when skies grew dim. You could see it in his face when he spoke of mother earth. The light and sparkle in his eyes as his tale unraveled. Sometimes a tear appeared as he spoke of ravished land. Then the wrinkled smile as he told of his travels. The acrid smoke stinging from the pipe passed around. Then arms wide and darkened sight knew he was dancing. He�d left the camp his body stayed as he traveled once again. The drumming frogs echoed inspired by the storytellers chanting. Now the breezes whispered sending him into the dark. Arms folded across his chest and we knew he held her tight. The dancer told him of his past and how the land was good. His fathers stood before him nodding she was right. Sky Dancer filled his heart his blood flowed warmer now. They stomped in smaller circles now as the storyteller danced. Small beams of light shown as night began to end He held a pouch of stories now to tell when he had the chance. The campfire low he graced the gathers, dawn coming soon.
