| Love on The Forest Floor His head in her lap she fingered the tendrils of his hair. The wolves quiet and obedient lay by her side. Contemplating the evening air taking in its beauty. Her eyes on a sea of birds chasing after midge flies. Limbs were paths where squirrels played tag Lush grass to carpet where furry creatures played. Leaves of many colors blanketed the forest floor. A hollow in a tree where a woodpecker stayed. The rat tat tat as he hammered out the holes. Music the two made love by laying on a bed of pine. His rough but gentle hands had touched her heart. He erased past memories replacing his in her mind. Firelight flickered in the waning sunlights glow. A small ground squirrel sat atop a pile of buckskin. Moans of yes, forever more escaped her parted lips A kiss unheard but felt within muffled heated words. Yellow glowed the sentries eyes laying in content. A downy owl surveyed the scene perched in a tree. Moonlight glistening muscles rippling in their throes. Pleasured sounds floated on a sea of tranquillity. The breeze hushed its passion and silence overwhelmed. The night once young was at an end, peace now prevailed. The final act was over now the audience took to forest trails. Snuggled close and dreaming, counting kisses in the dark. The Masked Writer <-.-> 2002 T Lovett |
