An Inexpensive Lesson

A spouse or sweetheart are special things,
They make your day complete.
Whether they are across the world,
Or right there at your feet.

You need to tell them everyday,
Like, how much you mean to me.
Change the words now and then,
To suit your fantasy.

For who she is and what she is,
Is who shell always be.
If you continually criticize
Or gripe and moan constantly.

Then how could you expect her,
To be other than the same.
Give her praise for things she does,
And softly speak her name.

I am sure you still adore her,
You know this in your heart.
But should you neglect to tell her,
You may soon be apart.

Then soon Ill bet shell whisper "dear",
Sweet things to you, youll see.
And then the ground you will recover,
Itll be like it used to be.

Flowers and candy, fancy gifts,
Wont hurt a thing at all.
But most of all the words from you,
Make her feel ten feet tall.

Now dont misunderstand,
Like "Honey Im home"
For soon youll start to sound,
Hum drum like a drone.

I take my words from my heart,
I mean them and theyre nice.
So I cant get caught lying,
And have to pay the price.

A word of caution, listen close,
Be honest and sincere.
She will know and understand,
If its not too late I fear.

Hold her close and give affection,
No matter what your age.
This should be no boundary,
Youll see it in her face.

And if this failed it never was,
Or else its been too long.
But did you lose by trying!
If you think so, well youre wrong!!!!!
