Never Fail Sponge Cake

6 oz sugar

2 tsp water

4 lg eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla

6 oz cornflour

1 dsstsp flour

1 tsp BP

Method

Boil the sugar and water until dissolved, then add to the whipped egg whites. Add the egg yolks and the vanilla. Beat for 15 minutes. Fold in the sifted dry ingredients then pour into greased and lined tins. Bake at 180-190 for 20mins. Drop sponges from about 1 foot to floor when cooked.
