Pokemon Stadium is the second Pokemon game released on the N64. Following the sucess of the GameBoy game, Nintendo realeased Pokemon Snap, then Stadium.
Pokemon Stadium features all 150 Pokemon from the GameBoy games. It allows you to use the Pokemon you caught and raised on your GameBoy. This can make battles much more interesting as these Pokemon have the specific attacks that you have aquired
The Pokemon in battle are in full 3D and are animated fairly well. Though nothing particulary spectacular the graphics are pleasant and colourful to look at.
I have to say that the sound in this game gets really annoying. The commentary is plain not good and the Pokemon noises seem all the same. Overall you're better off turning off your speakers.
Battles are turn based and not the kind of button bashing Street-Fighter action we've all come to love. However, it's classical Pokemon style, and since it's a Pokemon game what could we expect?
This game is not easy to clock. The gym trainers are hard, unless you have some super Pokemon stored up in your GameBoy it will take time to defeat them all.
Overall not a bad effort, and is sure to be a popular title with the little kiddies. |
