These are happy times for anyone untroubled by the extinction of wildlife and destruction of the countryside.  Politicians assure us that nature is good because it fuels tourism.  Emphasis on the spirit annoys our easily bored populace.  But if we could reconnect with nature, sales of anti-depressants would drop like a rock, and what is lost to the pharmaceutical industry would be recaptured by savings on self-help books.   --   Thomas McGuane (Author of Ninety-two in the Shade and The Cadence of Grass)
