History

1984 Started as a single proprietor enterprise under the name of Vichem Commercial when the country was at its worst financial/dollar/political crisis. Involved in trading of solvents, varnishes and allied chemicals, using cash capital of P 50,000.00 and with only three (3) employees.

1987 Was incorporated with a paid-up capital of 1.0M with 50% of shares (converted from net assets of the single proprietor) belonging to Romulo & Wilma Cruz, the other 50% to a group mostly officers/managers of a commercial bank. Started to manufacture paints, varnishes at a rented space at Bgy. Bagumbayan, Quezon City.

1989 The Cruz family was able to buy out the other 50% of the company thus gaining full control of Management/Ownership.

1990 Opened office/warehouse in Cebu City.

1994 Transferred factory to Bo. Ugong, Valenzuela, Metro Manila. The property is now owned by the company.

1998 Started producing road maintenance/safety paints.

Dec 1998 to Aug 1999 Temporarily transferred production to a rented factory in Cainta, Rizal due to a fire that gutted production building on Nov. 30, 1998.

Jul 1999 Transferred office to Annapolis, Greenhills, San Juan.

Sep 1999 Finished rebuilding its factory in Valenzuela and resumed production there.

Oct 1999 Started producing Asphalt Sealant and Cold Mix Asphalt for road maintenance.

Feb 2000 Established an affiliated company Kemstruct Corp., a painting and industrial maintenance contractor.

Sep 2000 Started producing Thermoplastic Road Markings for road construction and maintenance.

Apr 2002 Established Qualicon Corp. which deals on Reflectorized Road Studs, Guard Rails and Directional Signs. Currently Over Php 75M in assets 40 regular workers

Present Over Php 75M in assets; 40 regular workers; 50 contractual workers
