Kind of Woman Sessions Master 1-17-80 Two takes of Kind of Woman being arranged, (13:24 and 11:43) straight from the master reel to reel. She also prattles on about the art of temptation and asks for a small vodka. She talks to someone named Walter. Then some guy (maybe Petty, although I don't really think it sounds like him) sings Del Shannon's "Runaway". This is awesome! Great sound quality! Kind Of Woman Sessions #2 Six takes of Kind Of Woman from the master reel to reel. With Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. First track is an instrumental with talking, second and third track is a continuation of the instrumental but with vocals from Kind Of Woman, fourth and fifth tracks hace Kind Of Woman vocals that finishes with studio chatting, sixth track has Tom singing Runaway Lady From the Mountain from the master Bella Donna reel-to-reels. Includes two short incomplete takes (1:38 and 1:13), and two complete "drum machine" demos (labeled takes 7 and 8-- 7:19 and 5:57.) Excellent quality! Outside the Rain Session Master #2 Recorded 4-4-80. This is a 23 minute take of Outside the Rain, with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers arranging, discussing, and singing (w/some alt. lyrics.) This is really pretty funny, with Stevie cussing about the sound being too loud, and talking about cough drops and how she takes care of her throat when she's onstage. Plus a 6 minute instrumental track of an unknown song. Excellent sound Sanctuary Master Reel to Reel Demo CD #1 Taken from the original master reel to reel tape. This is a 21 minute studio session recorded 4-81. During this session, the song "Sanctuary" is constructed (instrumentation and lyrics are arranged and the song is pieced together). Some of the dialog between Stevie and Tom is very funny! (At the end Stevie asks for a glass of champagne as the Heartbreakers are "arguing" over how the song should be arranged, what should be changed, added, dropped, etc.) Sound quality is perfect, absolutely amazing! Sanctuary Master Reel to Reel Demos CD # 2 This disc is #2 of 2 in the "Sanctuary" series. Sound is perfect, includes five (5) studio versions (takes) of "Sanctuary" (one is purely instrumental). The audio between each take (which is best describe as "musicians at play") is, in itself, awesome & very cool.
