| HONORING SABATHIA - C.C. Sabathia was named A.L. Rookie of the month for posting a 3-0 record and a 2.83 ERA in six starts during July. "I like C.C. more every time I see him," Manuel said. "He has a chance to be a no.1 starter in a couple of years." NYY infielder Alfonso Soriano was runner-up. THE FINLEY FACTOR - If Chuck Finley reports no ill-effects from his outing in Akron on Wednesday night, he probably will be worked into the rotation against the Twins next week in Minnesota. "From the reports we got, Finley threw real good," Manuel said. "I still have to talk to him and see where he's at." Finley had been on the DL with an inflamed disc. ROTATING THE ROTATION - Dave Burba's start will be moved back from Saturday to Sunday, and Steve Woodard will get a start on Saturday against the Mariners. BRADLEY WATCH - Milton Bradley, acquired from the Expos for right-hander Zach Day, has reported to Buffalo and was in uniform last night. |
