Neill was named Best Actor in British Television
and recieved a Golden Globe nomination for
Reilly, Ace of Spices and was given an Australian
Film Institute Award for A Cry in the Dark,
opposite Meryl Streep.
He also recieved Emmy and Golden Globe
nominations for his work in TV's Merlin(in
the title role).
Neill was born on Nothern Ireland and
grew up in New Zealand.
After graduating from the University of
Canterbury, he joined the New Zealand
Film Unit, where he combined acting with
directing.
