History of Soap
Soap can not be documented to the very first time soap was made. The first soap could have been made and used in the prehistoric times when animal fats and ashes that made a foam and noticed it cleaned things like the pot or hand, but we do not know if this is true. The very first time the soap could definitely be recorded is in ancient roman times when goat and ashes combined to make a foam soap. This was the first time it was recorded, they also said that common salt was used to make this hard and in Pompeii they had actual soap making factories. Although soap was not used by personal use until the late roman times. In Europe after the fall of the roman empire not much soap was used in the dark ages. Soap was not around during this time until Italy and Spain revived the making of it in the 8th century and France got into the making in the 13th century. In the 14th century the southern countries were making better soap than countries in the northern Europe that was made out of olive oil. For a while soap was not used for bathing during the renassance times but it was used for cleaning cloths and things like that.
