My Grandparents
The Nelsen's, my Mother's family in 1895.
Mom is the toddler on the far right at the bottom.
My beautiful Mother as a young woman.
She is now 110 years old.
Born in Richmond, VA in 1893 to Rasmus & Elizabeth
Nelsen,she was the youngest of 12 children.
Her father started the Nelsen Funeral Home
in Richmond, which is now run by a 4th generation
of our family, with branches in Hopewell and Williamsburg.
Mother married at age 26 and started
her family at age 32. She had 3
children, Charles, Grace and Alan.
