Obama Is RENEGADE
photo

President-Elect Barack Obama is RENEGADE. I certainly hope not.

No, don't worry, that's just his code name. So let it be known, whenever you see Suits whispering about RENEGADE, you'll know Obama's on the loose. Eyes peeled my friends.

Back in the day when electronics equipment did little to encrypt messages, names were obviously used to disguise conversation. Of course now's not the case, and the names are really tiny plays of good humour and fun. Ronald Reagan's predilection for equestrian themes gave him "Rawhide." Jimmy Carter, a Sunday School teacher was called "Deacon" and Dick Cheney's love for hunting down things gave him the name "Itchy Fingers." Nah, I'm kidding. Cheney loved to fish, and he was called "Angler." And as for Al Gore, who's real codename was "Sundance" joked with the press that his name was so incredibly boring that it was...Al Gore. Haha, good quip Gore. You deserve the Nobel Prize. Al Gore's oldest daughter in keeping with the "two syllable, same starting consonant with the President" rule identified herself as Smurfette -- yeah, that fat, sexy, troll-creature from the cartoon. She's regretted it many times over. But of course, I've mused as to what my code name would be should I ever become president. I've considered some rather funky alternatives ever since my original idea of "Master Of The Universe" was shot down (It's not TWO syllables). Meh, I digress...

People still don't really know why Obama chose RENEGADE. The word though, actually comes from Spanish -- Renegaldo, meaning "Christian turned Muslim." Ironic actually. Some rather cynical folks from the South (The DEEP South) originally thought that Obama was a Muslim -- and for that reason, they were unwilling to give him their vote. Because of that, I'm willing to say that Obama took this name just to piss off an entire demographic.

Man Obama, you've done it again.
