Two scientists, one from a Danish university and the other from a Romanian university sat through a very large number of Unreal Tournament death matches. 1,347 games to be exact. No doubt their asses were frozen shut. They compiled a stack of notes and reached one conclusion:



Red Team kicks ass.



No kidding.

For the strangest reasons, players who don red battle gear are more likely to turn the tide in their favour. In Unreal, 55% of all games were taken by Red. These guys are apparently better at shooting stuff. On a related note, research shows that wearing red is also an advantage in sports. Yes, ACTUAL sports. One-on-one events like Olympic wrestling (2004) saw general favour for red-wearing competitors.



Red is reported to hold such an advantage because it supposedly serves as a "psychological distractor for men." Men flush and turn red when they're psyched or wicked pissed.



Science has spoken -- Red is king.
