Uncharted: M-Rated Because Of Dead Fish
photo

Uncharted used to have an M-Rating.

It wasn't because of nudity, drugs, or inappropriate head-implosions.

It was because of Dead Fish.

According to Evan Wells, Co-President of Naughty Dog, Uncharted in its early development allowed players to target the Koi in ponds. The idea was eventually tossed for a more acceptable T-Rating. But now that I think about it, that's just ridiculous! Killing fish? Like in... fishing? It's weird to think that taking out fish outranks headshots on unsuspecting twits. At any rate, the ESRB has some sticky requirements. If you've played Uncharted, you'll also notice that the ragdoll physics on downed humans are significantly less awesome then say, GTA.

I suppose this one of many concessions that Naughty Dog had to make in order to keep the game teen rated.

So basically, Uncharted has taught us that...

Dead fish = M-Rating
