When there's something strange in the neighborhood...
A new videogame by Sierra will soon bring back the fun of GHOSTBUSTERS!
Company President Mark Randel demonstrated the dyanamics of "slime tethers" in a recent game preview. Harnessing the energy of a proton powerpack, players can project a stream of slime that can attach anything with everything in the game. Books-to-humans, cars-to-humans, ghosts-to-humans; the combinations are fun and varied. And I have to say, the slime effects look really good. Objects hang and dangle realistically.
Another fantastic aspect of gameplay is that the thousands of onscreen objects will occasionally stumble and move on their own. They're not glitches, they're ghosts (a move designed to promote active paranoia). Books in a library can be seen floating and interacting with each to such an extent that they eventually come together to form a gigantic book behemoth.
"Anything could potentially become a monster," said Randel
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, nad Ernie Hudson will be voicing their original characters. Note: You play as a rookie in training.
Expect the game to be released on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 at Christmas 2008.
