Woodfall Temple (Continued) |
Step 12: Room C Proceed along the upper balcony to the exit on the south side of the chamber and pass through the doorway. Step 13: Room D You're locked again. This time you have to fight a dinofos. They are tough enemies. Watch out for its fiery breath. To get a successful attack wait for it to come to you, then after it swings its sword the first time, strike it and move back. After you get three successful hits, it is defeated and a treasure chest appears in the middle. Open this and you get the Hero's Bow! Step 14: Room C Now, get some arrows from the pots to your right, and shoot the golden eye across from you. This causes the Deku Flower to rise up and down. Turn into Deku Link and glide to the flower. Then use that |

flower to glide to the exit to the north end of the chamber and enter the door. Step 15: Room F Now you are stuck with the temple's final mini-boss. This time it is a Gekko. The first part is really easy. Just slash him with your sword three times. After that, he calls on a snapper for assistance. Gekko will ride him as he spins and tries to hit you. Do the same thing that you did to the snapper earlier. Just don't slash him. Now you see the Gekko crawling up on the ceiling. Use Z-Targeting (wait for Tatl to turn yellow and be near the Gekko) and you will automatically lock on. Now shoot him with an arrow. Repeat this step three times to defeat him. Now go into the chamber with the blue & yellow treasure chest. Open it and you get the Boss Key! Step 16: Room C Come back to Room C and launch to the doorway on the west side. Step 17: Room B Using the Hero's Bow, fire an arrow through the lit torch into the other unlit torch. Once you strike it right, it will rise up and start rotating. This causes it to clean the water of the poison. (Now is a good time to go back to Room F to get fairy #11) Jump down to the rotating flower and now you have to light another torch. You should see a torch near the northern section. It's kinda tough to light this one, but you will get the hang of it soon. Now, proceed through the doorway and you enter the last room before the boss! Step 18: Room J The last four fairies can be found here. They are all in alcoves to your side, except for one that is trapped inside a bubble in fire. Pop the bubble and you get fairy #12. Now use the Deku Flowers on the right to collect fairies #13 and #14, and the ones on the left to get the last fairy. Now shoot the crystal switch on the right to put out the fire rings. Now glide towards these pillars which have more Deku Flowers in them, and use them to launch to the ledge, and you will now be facing the boss! |

Odalwa is actually one of the easiest bosses of the game. As you can see, he is very much like Link. He has a few main attacks including a huge swing of his blade. He also calls on a herd of locusts, stone blocks, and scarabs. Another attack that you should watch out for is his ring of fire. To get an attck on him, run up to him and attack him with your sword. Watch out for his blade as you come up. Keep attacking him. Try to divide your time between Odalwa and his little friends. When you defeat his little scarabs they give you more hearts and energy. This should be an easy way to regain health during the battle. Once you get about five hits on him, back up and use arrows to hit him now. The arrows stun him so after you shoot him run up and slash him as many times as you can. Repeat this step until he is defeated. Collect the Odalwa's Remains Mask (cannot be worn), and the heart container. Collect the heart container first. What happens next is that you have a somewhat mini chat with the "Giant" and you learn the Oath to Order. This song will be used later in the game. Congratulations! You have defeated the first boss and are ready to go onto the mountains in the North! |

Before you go to the north, be sure to slash the vines behind you. Go in and you see the Deku Princess. Put her in a bottle and bring her to the Deku Palace. Show her to her father, and then the monkey will be freed. |
