Isotonic: same concentration of water on both sides of the cell membrane.
Hypertonic: More water inside cell than out, turgor pressure decreases.
Hypotonic: More water outside cell, water moves inside.
Important terms: Turgor pressure (pressure inside the cell) and Plasmolysis (cell shrinks because it lets out too much water. Cell becomes flaccid and limp).
