When I greet students on their first day.
- Make eye contact with them.
- Let them know about what is on the board, how to find their seats, and that they need to get started right away. ..
Once the bell has rung.
- Say hello and welcome them to the first day of school and allow them a few more minutes to finish their bell work.
- Take attendance during this time.
- Take up bellwork.
- Introduce myself, show a powerpoint about me...
- Express my excitment for being back to school.
