Lots of news here today, folks... Victoria's Times Colonist - three good peices of news all in the same article. The official confirmation of Shawn Ashmore returning as Bobby Drake (Iceman), Kelly Hu's character's name has been changed from Anne Reynolds to Yuriko Oyama, although her role remains the same, and Brian Cox (Bourne Identity) has (reportedly) been cast as Stryker. The bit about Brian Cox was later debunked the next day by Corona's Coming Attractions, stating that the role will go to "an unnamed American actor."

"Moriarity" from Ain't It Cool News purposley spilled the beans on the cameos everyone's been talking about. She had this to say about Colossus' role; "I didn't mention Colossus in my earlier script review because it's a brief appearance, and I didn't want to spoil the fun. When you see the metallic armor slide down into place on his arms, it's going to be one of those things that makes that makes fanboys squeal." And fangirls... Anyway she also said, "There are other smaller character appearances like that, with rampant rumors about Hank McCoy and a certin Cajun gambler, but I refuse to be the one that ruins them." She also stated that Angel, Madeylne Pryor, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch will definetly not appear in the movie.

There's more news than that, most of it stuff nobody would really care about unless they lived near Hately Castle or the Esquimalt Lagoon in Victoria. I'll get some of it and whatever other stuff they come up with in two days.

Okay, so it was more than two days, shoot me. Oh yeah. The stuff about Hatley Castle (the place where they are, or were, shooting scenes), and Esquimalt Lagoon. According to the Goldstream News Gazette, there will be a lot of helicopters flying over the Colwood area, including the lagoon, during July. The city council will have to suspend its noise level law for six days. Shooting starts after 9pm on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. (Guess I told that news just in time.)

Absoulutely amazing stuff from Corona's Coming Attractions, and this isn't just gossip people, this is FACT! Spoilers are ahead, so close your eyes and scroll down if you feel squemish. There were three reporters giving their info to Corona's, and they all matched up pretty well to each other. Stryker is, in fact, going to be played by Brian Cox, whom I just learned also played Hannibal Lector. It's certain that Stryker's base, named the 'Alkali Base',which includes Weapon X, will have a major part, and the scene for the military base was described as "Dark, green, almost sewer-like!"  It's composed of a lot of tunnels and labs and s*@% like that. Magneto's prison seems to have grown an extra room, suposedly for metal detection, and the plastic tunnel on the other side of the prison has vanished. The Danger Room is gigantic, it spins, and they are going to have a bunch of weapons shooting at Wolverine like that sketch I showed ya earlier this year. (BTW, sorry it's not in the Archives anymore, I accidentaly deleted it. If you want to see it, email me and I'll show it to you.)  It seems that the White House will also be involved, with the last battle scene in the Oval Office, "but it looks like they're going to use every single room in the West Wing and it will be like the real thing when it's finished." The X-jet will also be bigger and better. This is what one scooper had to say; "The X-Mens jet is being built inside and out and I've seen the miniature for it and it's very sweet on the eyes." The last scooper had a lot of other tantalizing information, some of which I'll show to you. "Stryker is one of the key men involved with Weapon X - and he knows where Logan/Wolverine really came from. The Legacy Virus is now complely removed from the current draft of the screenplay, replaced by something better. Something that has it's origins with Magneto and Proffeser X and is just as deadly to mutants as the Legacy Virus ever was. ...Nightcrawlers background with a circus remans intact. So does his strong religious faith. And he BAMPHs better than in the comic. Colossus has a part equal to that of, say, Iceman in the first film. And there's a part for Toad... but so far, no confirmation on the return of Ray Park."

I think I should leave it at that for now, since I'm completely out of space. There'll be more belated, yet exciting news on the way soon, so stick around!

Remember how I said earlier that Senator Kelly (played by Bruce Davison) might return in X2? Well, the rumor has been confirmed factual by Sci - Fi Wire. He didn't say how he would return, but he did say that the senator's feelings toward mutants is different. Not a big suprise, huh?

Dark Horizons - As you probably know by now, the junior X-Men (Iceman, Pyro, Kitty Pryde) will have a larger part in the movie, although Rouge's part will be smaller than in the first one. Halle gets more screen time, Nightcrawler won't have a uniform for most if the film, there are cameos for Angel, Gambit, Colossus, and maybe Jubilee; Colossus would get the longest screen time out of them all.

Corona's Coming Attractions - It looks like half the Brotherhood will be gone. Toad (Ray Park) and Sabretooth (Tyler Mane) will probably not be returning for the second X-Man film. I don't know how in the heck they're gonna pull this off with only two of the Brotherhood remaining, maybe three if Pyro joins.
