Yummy-Yummy Pretzels
4 c flour
1 1/2 c warm water
1 pkg dry yeast
1 Tbs salt
1 Tbs sugar
1 egg

Steps:
Mix yeast with water and let set until bubbles form
Mix flour, salt, sugar and add yeast and water mixture, stir, add egg.
Knead for about 15 minutes
Make into pretze;s, shapes, whatever;)
Bake at 375F for 12-15 minutes
**They grow taller, not wider; They turn white unless you brush them with vegetable oil <does not alter flavor>
Makes about 8-9 pretzels

            Crowd-Pleaser Pretzels
1 1/2 c warm water
1 1/8 tsp active yeast (1 1/2 pkg)
2 Tbs brown sugar
1 1/8 tsp salt
1 c bread flour
3 c regular flour

2 c warm water
2 Tbs baking soda

To taste , coarse salt and/or 2-4 Tbs melted butter

Steps:
Sprinkle yeast on lukewarm water in mixing bowl; stir to dissolve. Add sugar, salt and stir to dissolve; add flour and knead dough until smooth and elastic. Let rise at least 1/2 hour.
While douhg is rising prepare a baking soda water bath with 2 c warm water and 2 Tbs baking soda, stir often.
After dough has risen, pinch off bits of dough and roll into a long rope (about 1/2" or less thick) and shape. Dip pretzels into soad solution and place on a greased baking sheet. Allow pretzel to rise again. Bake in a 450F oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle on salt if desired.

Cinnamon pretzel: Melt a stick of butter in a shallow bowl, but large enough for pretzel to lay in. Make a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Dip pretzel into the butter, coating both sides generously, then dip again into cinnamon mixture.
