Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
       
Makes about 4 dozen

Ingredients:
1 1/2 c sifted flour  1 tsp baking soda   1 tsp cinnamon  1/2 c firmly packed light brown sugar 
1 c butter, softened  1 large egg          1 cup granulated sugar    1 tsp vanilla extract 
1 1/2 c rolled oats  1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
Steps:
Mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon.  Beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
At low speed, beat in flour mixture until blended.  Fold in oats and chocolate chips. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Grease 2 baking sheets.
Shape dough into 1" balls. Place them 2" apart on baking sheets.  Flatten each cookie slightly.
Bake cookies until edges are lightly browned, about 10-12 minutes.  Transfer baking sheets to wire racks to cool.

                         Marble  Chocolate Swirls
These cookies look like they're quite difficult to make, but, trust me, if this girl can do it, il est tres facile!
Ingredients:
1/2 c granulated sugar              1/2 c packed brown sugar      1/2 c butter, softened
1 3oz. package cream cheese    1 egg               1 tsp vanilla       2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder              1/4 tsp salt     
1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled slightly
Steps:
Heat oven 350 degrees F.
In large bowl, combine sugars, butter, cream cheese, egg and vanilla.  Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.  Add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat at low speed until soft dough forms.
Fold melted chips into dough until lightly marbled (Do not overmix!)
Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown.

Oat's & Yogurt Chip Cookies
Don't be afraid: These ARE good!
Ingredients:
1/2 c plain non-fat yogurt             1/2 c granulated sugar       1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c butter or margarine, soft       1/4 c vegetable shortening    1 tsp vanilla 
1 3/4 c flour      1/2 c rolled oats     1/2 tsp baking soda     1/4 tsp salt    
1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips     1/2 c milk chocolate chips
Steps:
Heat oven 375 degrees F.
In large bowl, combine yogurt, sugars, butter, shortening, and vanilla.  Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until well blended.  Add flour oats, baking soda and salt.  Beat at low speed until soft dough forms. Stir in chips.
Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 8-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Let cool for one minute before removing from sheets.
**Optional: Add more chocolate chips for a less yogurt/oat taste**
