| Chocolate-Pecan Brownies 3/4 c all purpose flour 1/4 tsp baking soda 3/4 c granulated sugar 1/3 c butter or margarine 2 Tbs water 1 pkg (12oz) semisweet chocolate chips 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 c chopped pecans Preheat oven 325F. Grease 9" square baking pan. In small bowl, mix together flour and soda. in small saucepan, combine sugar, butter and water. Bring to boil over medium heat; remove immediately from heat. Stir in 1 c chocolate chips and vanilla until chocoale is melted and mixture is smooth. Transfer mixture to a medium bowl. Cool completely. Stir in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually stir in flour mixture until smooth. Stir remaining chocolate chips and nuts into batter. Pour batter into pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into squares, makes about 16. Great American Home Baking |

| Beth's Super Brownies Brownie mix (I like Pillsbury Brownie Classics Traditional Fudge Brownie Mix) and needed ingredients (usually some eggs, oil, and water) 7-8 Hershey bars or your favorite chocolate bars Preheat oven and prepare brownie mix according to the package. Divide the mix in half. Spread half into a greasec 9"x13" pan. Break up chocolate bars into small rectangles and place on top of the brownie mix. Top chocolate bars with the remaining brownie mix. Bake as directed, cool completely, and enjoy! |

| Beth's Chess Bars Crust: 1 stick of butter, softened 1 egg 1 box yellow cake mix Mix with electric mixer (will be slightly dry) and press in a ungreased 9"x13" pan. Topping: 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 3/4 box of powdered sugar Mix with mixer, pour over crust and bake for 35-40 minute, or until set, at 350F. |
