Battle of the Bands
it was mid afternoon when Dana and Abbi found themselves in front of the T.V. It had been a restless day with nothing to do since the guys had been playing basketball all day and Eva, well...who knows where she is.
"Turn the channel Dana!!!" Abbi wailed as she pointed to the screen
"I'm turning, I'm turning!! sheesh!!!" Dana replies in a huff.
As Dana pressed the buttons on the remote control, Abbi fanned herself with her hand. The afternoon had proven itself to be a sticky one. Dana flicked to a few more channels when she finally stopped at the MTV channel. She wasn't hoping to, but a bunch of guys had cought her eye, and well..she couldn't resist. She watched the guys for a few more minutes whe she finally figured out who they were. She recognised them as 5ive. She had seen them perform live when she had accompanied her litle cousin to one of their instores when they were on their promo tour.
She found herself thinking of the guy with the eyebrow ring.
hmmm..sexy!!! She thought. Her thoughts were broken by Abbi.
"Oh shit!!! What the hell is this crap??" she cried out.
Dana turned to Abbi and gave her a dirty look.
"Abbi, they've got a name!!" She defended.
"What?? LOSERS???" replied Abbi sarcastically.
".......and I know who they are!!!..and my God, they suck!!!!!! she continued.
Dana scrunched up her face in disguist.
"Yeah what-"
"Now THAT'S a group!!" Abbi screamed while she cut Dana off and pointing at the T.V. screen at the same time.
Dana turned to look at the T.V. She found herself looking at NSYNC.
Whoa!!!..how the hell did I know that??? She thought in shock.
Well, actually she did. One of her other cousins had this thing for NSYNC and well, she found them to be annoying little shits. In the meantime, Abbi seemed to think otherwise.
"Oh shit Abbi!! Don't tell me you like them!!" Dana cried out in disbelief.
"Yeah why not?? They're better than those good for nothing 5ive!!" Abbi replied as she got up to dance to "tearing up my Heart"
Dana rolled her eyes.
"Give me a break!!! everyone knows they suck like hell, I mean did you see them at one of those award shows last year?? They looked like crap in plastic!! especially that pineapple look alike one!!!..ooh, what's his name?? Chris??.....yeah HIM!!!" Dana disputed.
"Well, at least they don't try to act like macho wannabes!! And if you're going to talk about hair, check out that dude with the spikes?? does he have some kind of identity crisis or something, coz I swear he's trying to look like a hedgehog!!!" Abbi spat out.
"Uh hello!!! NSYNC look like FREAK with feet!!! Check out that I'm-so-white-I-glow dude!! Man, now that's freaky!!!!"
"Uh well, how about that dude with the eyebrow ring??......"
"Hey, you keep your comments about J to yourself girl, if you know what's good for you!!!!"
Abbi raised an eyebrow.
"Ooh, does Kevin know about your 'thing' for J??" She asked teasingly.
"NO he doesn't!!! That's because I don't have a THING for J!!!" Dana yelled defensively.
"Yah!!! sure Dana!!!" Now it was Abbi's turn to roll her eyes.
"Anyways, back to J......." Abbi continued. She knew it'd piss Dana off, but hey, who cares??....it's in defense of NSYNC.
Dana gave Abbi the evil eye. Abbi just returned it with a sly grin.
"....he looks like he's about to rob the corner store!!!!"
"OI!!! and what's up with the boy-next-door attitude??? HELLO!!! i'd rather move than be anywhere near them!!!!" Dana screamed in a high pitch manner. Abbi just returned her insult one decible higher.
"HEY!!! Those british accents were cute for 5 seconds, after that it's like ,what the FUCK was that dear??"
Dana and Abbi were now both standing up. Their faces red with frustration in trying to out do each others insults. their screams were now at fever pitch when it finally reached the ears of the Boys outside. Which coincidently enough, drew in Eva from wherever she was at.
"Dana, why the hell are you defending them anyways?? They're a bunch of losers!! Cchhhh! Seriously!! They piss the crap out of me!! Who the hell do they think they are!! Far out!! They suck and they’re nothing BUT losers and annoying pieces of chocolate cake!!" Abbi asked while she folded her arms in front of her.
" What:? Chocolate cake?? Yeah, up my ass! For your information GIRLFRIEND, thay are NOT losers!! They happen to have talent, unlike NSYNC!!! Dana retorted.
"Oh yeah?? Where are they hiding it?? up their ass??"
"NO!!! but I'm sure that's where NSYNC's one comes from!!"
"At least they have any!!!"
"Yeah!! and it stinks!!!"
Abbi twitched her nose and took a breath in. “EXCUSE ME! What are you talkin’ about!! The hell N’SYNC don’t have talent!! CCHH!! They do so, and their vocals sound way better than darn it 5ive!! And what a loser name!! Don’t tell me that 5ive’s vocals impress you more than N’sync’s!!”
The boys appeared at the doorway. They were miffed about what was going on as they watched Abbi and Dana hold screaming match.
"Guys, what's with the shouting??" Brian asked.
"NSYNC SUCKS!!!" Dana answered.
"SHUT UP DANA!!! I know you meant 5ive!!!" Abbi coaxed back.
"Guys, we could hear you from outside!!!" Nick pointed out.
"WHAT?? SO??" Abbi and Dana said at he same time.
Nick stepped back.
"hey, just stating the obvious..." Nick replied.
The two girls glared at Nick for some time until, finally Howie stepped in between the 2.
"OK, you 2 are acting like a bunch of kids!!!..."he pointed out with that annoying "I'm a parent authority" tone.
"..i mean, come on, 5ive and NSYNC????..aren't you a bit too old for that???"
Dana placed her hands on her hips, and Abbi just looked on with her arms folded.
"is that so Howie??" Abbi asked.
Howie nodded. Abbi looked at Dana.
"..then what are we doing here with YOU guys??" Dana asked reading Abbi's mind.
"Er,....."Howie was stuck with the answer. He looked around the room for help from the guys. Kevin stepped forward and hugged dana from behind.
"With the exception of us of course...." He repleid for Howie, then kissed Dana's neck.
Abbi looked at AJ. AJ had this "he's right" look.
"Hmm...suppose so..." Abbi replied giving in.
With that, AJ gave Abbi a hug then placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Great, now thats all over...let's go eat!!" Eva suggested from behind Nick.
"YEAH!!!" the boys cried out with eagerness.
"Erm......eva, you're not going to cook it are you??" Brian asked with fear in his voice.
Eva glared at him, then slapped him on his shoulder.
"AWWW, that hurt!!!"
"So, it should!!!" Eva said triumphantly.
Nick, Eva,Howie,Brian and AJ all filed out to the kitchen, leaving Dana, Kevin and Abbi behind.
"Er, ....Kev, I'd watch Dana if I were you....she's got her eye on J!!" Abbi said teasingly.
Kevin turned to look at Dana.
"Is that right??" he askd with a raised brow.
"Erm, she's only joking Kev..you have nothing to worry about!!!" Dana assured him while giving Abbi another evil eye. As soon as Dana had her back turned to Abbi, Abbi shook her head at Kevin and mouthed "No she wasn't!!". Kevin mouthed back " I'll make her forget." Then gave Abbi a sly grin. Abbi understood and nooded with a smirk.
Dana ushered Kevin to the kitchen, which Kevin didn't hesitate to comply to, he was starving. Dana and Abbi were once again left alone.
"hey sorry Abbi...." dana apologised.
"hey's that's cool..no probs!!! You know I was just havin’ fun!!" Abbi replied.
"But 5ive will kick BUTT anytime, anywhere!!!" Dana said with a wink.
"yeah whatever!!!"
As they were about to leave, the clip for MmmBop came on. The girls turned to each other and pulled a disgusted face.
"EWWWWWWWW!!! HANSON!! GROSS!!!" they said in unison. They turned to leave while laughing at the same time.
