| NEWS August 12, 2002- A KISS tribute band rocked into the late hours of the night in Athens, Georgia. Over 800 supporters including many young people showed up for the event. The high point of the night was when Fred Cook was lowered from the ceiling dressed up like KISS. This party was a part of his get the youth out to vote drive. August 11, 2002- Key West, FL- During a shrimp boil in the Truman Annex Fred Cook spoke out against Politics1.com. "Many people in America get their political updates from the Politics1.com website on the internet. The people who operate the site claim that they are independent. That is a joke! If you look under Independents running for President nearly everyone has something negative written about them. Under my profile it says that my site on the internet has many typos. It actually states that next to my name. If you look under Al Gore there is nothing negative about him! There is no mention of his mistakes on his website last election. For quite sometime Al Gore had a link to view his site in spanish that was actually linked to his page in english. Many Latinos across America were not happy with it but it didn't make his profile because it is not a politcal issue. Many of you will ask me why such a good source like Politics1.com would do such a thing. They think we don't stand a chance! They think we are a joke! But I promise you we will be doing the laughing in November of 2004. The people of this country are ready for change! And I'll tell you something else, the college students across America who work on my webpage do a good job. If Politics1.com has a problem with the job they do they can hire someone to work on the site for me. But I perfer the many volunteers who put forth their time and effort. The best part about the whole thing is that Politics1.com makes errors of their own, under my profile it says "school teach Fred Cook." What is this a spelling error? Of course it is because humans make mistakes. Remember Cook is GOODER Politics1.com". April 3, 2002- While making a speech in North Texas Fred Cook talked about what party he may or may not run in during the 2004 campaign. "There are only a very select party or two that I would even consider running with in this election. It seems that every party eventually gives into politics as usual and I will not do that! The only party that I am seriously considering is the Reform Party and a very distant second would have to be the Independent American Party. However, I have not ruled out forming my own party. It is important to me that my supporters know where I stand and this is really all I know right now. I promise you that the public will know as soon as I know. I will promise you that no one will find me joining either the Republican or Democratic ticket". Fred Cook will be heading to Maryland later in the week for a series of coffee meetings with senior citizens. March 17, 2002- Today the Cook campaign is pleased to announce the formation of a group called "College Students For Cook". This group will be in charge of the Cook for President internet headquarters. After many requests from college students around the country this organization looks forward to helping young people get involved in the Cook 2004 campaign.. |
