| The following are some items CBC requires the landowner/customer to perform or arrange for several reasons. The main reason is to show the CBC they are committed to insuring a positive end result. If there are multiple customers, you may share achieving these requirements. They are
1. Obtain the proper Burn Permit and all other paperwork necessary to perform a prescribed burn. It is understood you the customer is ultimately responsible for the operation. 2. Notify all neighbors adjoining the property to be burned. If any, or all, of the neighbors do not approve it is the customers responsibility to deal with concerns. The CBC can, in turn, also talk with neighbors if it is needed to help explain things and answer questions. 3. While talking with neighbors, ask for permission to access adjoining property in case of any changes during the operation forcing us to gain access to help control flanks or back fire. Make sure they understand it is highly unlikely, in most cases, that we will be on their side of the fence but if it makes the operation safer or go smoother we will consider it. 4. Make sure, if permission given, all gates and other access points are noted. Make sure if there are any locks on the access points that they can be unlocked during the operation. 5. Obtain access to the closest water point possible. This can be as small as a water hydrant on a house or outbuilding or as large as a nearby fire hydrant. We have fittings for about every kind of water point. We do not have a portable water meter. If one is needed, and there is a charge for the water, it is the landowner(s) responsibility to take care of the charges. 6. It is known, most operations will include working through one or more meal times. It is not an obligation for the customer(s) to provide food. However, please let us know your plans. We can bring food. |
