| how you feel when you make a mistake... that you know you shouldn't make... and you can't seem to shake your feelings of self-pity... when you just start to think you had a tiny bit of pretty... you look at your likeness... in a photograph and are once again inspired to profess... your infinite ugliness... just when you thought you had what it takes... you fail again and your heart breaks... when you wait and wait for what doesn't come... and you work yourself into a melancholy sick in vain... because the goal you worked for you fail to attain... when you wait too long... and what you want is gone... when you wish you hadn't done what you did... when you wish you'd done what you hadn't... when you lost something or let someone down... when they're not there just when you need them around... and they all stare when you wish you'd blend into the wall... or they look right through you when you want to be heard by all... when you know in your gut you must do what you dread... when your heart gets into fatal fights with your head... when you need someone to come to your rescue... but no one is around to rescue you. |
