Mango
Head bowed over a granite patterned counter
In a kind of supplication maybe even prayer
Held with fascination and desperate hunger
A piece of nature from half a world away
Oval tangerine orange fruit
Nice square teeth bit in starving for a taste
Sweet tart juice dripping from sides of lips
Mouth devouring wanting more and more
It was exotic and familiar wet, rare
The knife cut away all but the center
All sustenance taken away
Ardent mouth panting for breath
Wanting another bite while licking sticky skin
