| Well, this is my Contour GL, as seen on the homepage of my site. I got her for $300. The reason I got it for so cheap was for a summer job, I would cut grass with a my parents lawn tractor (exciting) Only job I could get. Well I had a friend of mine help me by he would do the edging. I have always been a Ford person, and as we went to get our pay, my friend says "Thats one nice Civic they have!" (They also own a Honda Civic, and it was a LX i think...) Well as the lady opened the door, my big mouth said "Yah, but that Ford is way better, a real car!" And that minute, she heard that and said "well we are trying to get rid of it, the head gasket is bad" I asked to start it, battery was dead because it sat in the driveway for over 3 months, it started right up! And the engine sounded great, drove it around the block and asked myself, How is the headgasket the problem??? Well I bought it, since I coulda did the headgasket myself. (No white smoke from exaust either!) Well the headgasket was blamed because it overheated after a long time. I changed the headgasket, and it ran even better. It didnt overheat anymore, because the weather was cold. Though I later learned, the problem was: The coolant fan didnt go on when it got hot... Now I know the actual problem. Problem I believe is the Wiring harness. But at this minute it wont start... Because I notice more wiring harness problems. Though the car has been smoke free I am told :) I hope to soon get it fixed up.
