Roze Zone
Rose Zone, born in Manchester/UK as Rosalind Bee, has lived since 1987 in Berlin, Germany. She is well recognized in the European art world as an innovator, and in the contortion community as well.
Although she started training at the late age of 18, she made a fast break through into the international performance world.
She has also played acting rolls in "Delta Team" - as "Snake Woman", a German action series for television, in "Lexx-the dark zone"- as "Bruise" and the lead roll in a short film "Versponnen" directed by Illeana Cosmovici
" To express the fantasy through the visualisation of physical impossibilities, presented through colourful characters and aesthetic movements." In these are the words, the contortion artist ROSE ZONE uses to explain the art of her performance.
Her story is unusual: soon after finishing school, she found training in Cambridge, UK, with a contortionist teacher, Miss Joan Slipper,
who was known as "The Boneless Wonder" during her active performing years. After 18 months training, ROSE joined a Circus, which gave her first valuable performing experience.
Shortly after leaving the Circus, she was invited to China to perform for "The year of the Tiger" in 1986, being the first European contortionist to perform there. Back in Europe, she travelled to Paris to receive her first prize: she won the " Prize of the heart" at the International Circus Festival, which opened the doors to international engagements & television.
With her individual style & acrobatic talent, ROSE ZONE made her mark in the Circus world as being a "Modern Artist". Her performances with unusual costumes and choreography, combined with her acrobatic movements has amazed and delighted a wide audience.
ROSE ZONE reflects her character & imagination on stage, be it her "Angel" performance, "Shiva" the dancing goddess with six arms or the Art Deco Glamour of her "Gold Performance."
This Artist is dedicated to the perfect harmony of character, costume and music."
