The Continental Walk

Timo Arthur

Born in New Haven CT, Timo Arthur moved his father's native land of Barbados, where within days he was chosen as a lead guitarist for one of the country's top billed soca/calypso bands playing the island's most popular clubs and packed stadiums.  In pursuit of a career in American Blues, he returned to the U.S. to attend to Berklee College of Music.

While at Berklee, he cultivated his own style by frequenting local blues jams.  Drawing upon his greatest influences such as Albert Collins and Stevie Ray Vaughan, he became known for his laid back style and passionate musical presence.  Honored with mutual respect and friendship, he shared bills with acclaimed artists such as Brian Templeton, K.D. Bell, the Woodburn/Arena Band, Weepin' Willy, Sweet Willie D as well as opening up for Hawlin' Wolf's guitarist, Hubert Sumlin at B.B. King's Manhattan club.  Timo also collaborated with Brian Templeton and Matt Woodburn to record their demo CD under the band name, the Tremors.  Templeton later called upon Timo to tour with him in the summers of 2001 and '02.  In May of '02, Timo headed into the studio once again to record his own demo CD, which Templeton offered to produce.

With a deep and unwavering appreciation for legendary guitarists, Timo continues to work tirelessly to refine his craft.  In the future, he hopes to venture into the international blues scene while continuing to share the gospel of blues throughout the States.  Aside from scheduled performances, Timo is often asked to sit in with friends such as Tim Gearan, Nicole Nelson, Ricky "King" Russell, Toni Lynn Washington, and others.
