Beautiful Triple Black with Moonroof!

I bought this car after the Scirocco died just after the Gulf War for $875. It was black with a black cayman grain vinyl top and black leather interior and sunroof. The interior was in excellent condition and the air conditioning worked (always important in Texas). The car was not fully loaded: power locks and trunk release were absent as was the 460 cu. in. engine. This car had the 429 cu. in. but it was de-tuned to meet the energy requirements of 1973 and was not a powerful as the Thunderjet 429s in the '71s.
This particular car must have spent some part of its life in the north. The rear quarters were quite cancer ridden. I just plastered a couple of cans of Bondo in the holes and painted it below the beltline with Krylon gloss black. From ten feet away, the car looked pretty good.
I would definitely like to get another one someday, perhaps one of the more rare vinyl-less cars though I realize that I would have to do without a moonroof in this case. The moonroof was great, but it leaked onto the inside of the headliner and ran into the opera windows. I also love the full-width taillights of the '72-73 'birds (the segmented lights and the 5-mph bumpers of the '74-76 cars' are hideous).
