Good info from the Information and Privacy Commisioner about paying cash up front and travelling anonymously on the 407 ETR.

If you want to, you can travel on the 407 ETR anonymously, by paying cash up front for a transponder. They then can't tell what car is using the transponder nor do they have a billing address. Totally anon. You have to pay a hefty deposit on the transponder, and pay BEFORE you drive. If your credit is used up, they'll image the plates and bill the car's owner.
