The Atari Jaguar is quite an unusual looking console with the cartridge slot at the back of the unit and with no covering flap over the slot. Released in 1993 and the first console to support 64-Bit technologies, Atari thought they had it made. However it was recieved poorly and had an awful game lineup. Lack of third party developers and poor 3D graphics wiped out the Jaguar in no time. As if the main Jaguar unit was not a big enough flop, Atari wasted even more money and released the Jaguar CD - a CD based add-on that sat in the cartridge slot. Why did Atari not learn from the Mega CD's mistakes? Anyway, the Jaguar didn't go anywhere. Games released on this console included:- Cybermorph (Above), Tempest 2000, Flashback, Doom, Aliens Vs. Predator and Wolfenstein 3D. Aliens Vs. Predator is about the only rare game and can fetch up to 55 on eBay boxed. If you are going to get a Jaguar for your collection then be warned - they lose their novelty after about five days, i'm already onto my second Jaguar in a year. If you do really want one then don't pay more than 30 pounds, although they do go for more sometimes. They never appear at car boot sales. Games are also hard to get except from eBay, which can get out of hand for prices sometimes.

Specifications:
Don't even ask - they are far too complicated. But basically the Jaguar has five processors, all interlinkable. The Jaguar also supports lnetwork play with Doom, but its crap. Also, you'll actually need a network cable, which are uber rare, so don't bother. The Jaguar also supports linkup with the Lynx, but again, the cables are uber rare and I don't know of any supported games, so again, don't bother!

That's the Jaguar, not much to say apart that it was a 64-Bit flop. End of Story.
