| The GameBoy advance (or GBA) was released in 2001 and re-released in 2003 in the form of the GBA SP. Both units are identically powered and play the same games. However the SP is backlit and is rechargeable using a battery similar to a mobile phone battery. There are over 1000 games released over the history of Nintendo, most being original Gameboy and GBC (Game Boy Colour) Games. Many games on the GBA are re-released versions of SNES and NES games. Nintendo's hand held is more powerful than a SNES and is capable of 3D Graphics comparable to a 32-X. The GBA can also link to other GBA's and GBC's via an older cable. Whats more, it can also link to certain GameCube games to unlock extras or download mini games onto your GBA. There are many classic games on the GBA ranging from Mario and Sonic down to Donkey Kong and Kirby. The original GBA has ceased production but is however still very easy to get for a reasonable price. The GBA SP is new for 89.99 at most and comes in a multitude of colours and designs. These range from the standard silver to the tribal and NES classic editions. GBA's are very fun and are very battery friendly and I would definitely reccomend getting one if you are after portable gaming. Specifications: CPU: 32-Bit Arm 7 RISC Processor Running @ 16.7MHz Resolution: 240x160 (Widescreen) Colours: 65,535 palette. 512 displayable in character mode 32,768 displayable in bitmap mode. The N-Gage from Nokia is not a threat as it isn't a pure gaming machine, and you have to hold it sideways to use it as a phone, so no-one gives a damn about the N-Gage.
