University of Wales Lampeter Conservative Society (UWLCS) was founded in November 2002 by a group of like-minded students.
Thereafter, the society expanded rapidly, becoming one of the largest clubs at Lampeter University and to date, the only politically affiliated group at the third oldest University in England & Wales.
UWLCS was seen at the forefront of national campaigns, campaigned for local people, student welfare and is affiliated to the national union for students.
Memorable moments for the society included a reception with Michael Howard MP, meeting Iain Duncan Smith MP in London and joining the Students Union protest in London against student fees. In 2004, former Chairman Andrew Rose won the Students Union award for best 'Society Contributor'.
