Why Study at Shepherd's Hand school of Theology?

A few reasons for studying at SHSOT.

We have competent and credible teachers, who are working hard for excellence of learning and togetherness to demonstrate the universal characteristics of the Church of Jesus Christ

At SHSOT, theology is biblical and relevant. We are concerned about the deepness of Scriptural studies that all the students and ministers of the Word should be grounded. We are also concerned to face some relevant issues of the day, as we commit ourselves to go and make disciples of all nations.

At SHSOT family, unity is vital, but there is freedom to disagree. All walks of faith within the evangelicals are welcome and qualified to enroll. We are committed to the Bible as God's Word and the final authority. But we are also considerate to diversity of opinions as our expressions of our freedom in Christ.

We will start with a free admission, except that the classroom materials and textbooks will be shouldered by the students. The president of SHSOT will be the first professor, who offered free services of his teaching skills and with willingness to impart his seminary education, as a Master of Divinity graduate.

You are welcome to study at SHSOT.

Rev. Constancio V. Roda. President

STATEMENT OF VALUES

Love God and Your Neighbor

We are directed to love God with the totality of our being and our neighbor as ourselves. Loving God means, we need to worship and glorify Him. Loving our neighbors means, we need to reach them out and to make them the disciples of Christ.

Word Of God

We are committed to the Bible as God's Word and the final authority. We need to study the Scriptures diligently, meditate and obey wholeheartedly.

Witnessing Church

We believe that Christ commissioned His Church to become effective, witness of Himself to the whole world. The members of His Church shall be mobilized to become effective witnesses and a disciple makers.

Prayer

We are always dependent upon God. We can do nothing without Him. Prayer is a key principle that all our needs will be answered by our God. Prayer is our tool to evangelize, to send workers, to know God's perfect will and to be empowered us by the Holy Spirit for effectiveness in witnessing so that many will be ushered in God's kingdom.

Family

We belong to a universal family because the Church of Christ is the people of God all over the world. We are aware of the needs of the world and we are concerned to equip our students through a contextual approach of theology.

Unity

We will serve the whole Bible-believing family with much consideration of our common evangelical stand. Unity is very important as a God - given principle. We also value diversity of opinions based on our freedom in Christ. We can discuss any issues but with prevention to preserve our unity in Christ.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Article I

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and salvation, no error in the original manuscripts, infallible, and God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16- 17; Matt. 5:18; 2 Pet. 1:20-2 1; John 16:12-13).

Article II

We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in Three Persons - the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit - co-equal in being, nature, power and glory, having the same attributes and perfections (Deut. 6:4; 2 Cor. 13:14).

Article III

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and became man, but not ceasing to be God, having been born of the Virgin Mary, by the holy conception of the Holy Spirit for the purpose that God win be revealed in Him and for the redemption of all sinful men John 1;1, 2, 14; Luke 1:35). We believe that through His death on the cross our redemption was accomplished as a substitute sacrifice, and we are justified from His death and resurrection from the dead (Rom. 3.24-25; 1 Pet. 1:3-5). We believe that Christ our Lord ascended to heaven, excited and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God as our High Priest, Representative, Intercessor, aiid Advocate (Acts 1:9, 10; Heb. 7:25; 9:24; Rom. 8:34; 1 John 2:1, 2).

Article IV

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, inspite from eternity omnipresent, but on the day of Pentecost according to the holy promise, He dwells in every believer at conversion, and by His baptism, unites all believers to Christ in one body, and He that indwells is the source of all power for service and effectiveness (Acts 1:8; John 14:16,17; 16:7-15; 1 Cor. 6:19; Epli. 1:13-14; 2:22).

Article V

We believe that man was created in the image of God and likeness, but by Adam's sin all human race fell, by nature inherited the sinfulness, alienated from God; and totally depraved that by himself no remedy of his lost condition to be saved (Gen. 1:26,27; Eph. 2:1-3; Rom. 3:22,23,5:12).

Article VI

We believe that salvation is a free gift, by the grace of God through faith and not by works of sinfull men, but through personal faith in Jesus Christ (John 1:12; 5:24; Acts 4:12; Rom. 4:4, 5; Gal. 3:10-14; Eph, 2:8-9). We believe the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of salvation as speculated in the Word of God. We believe that the Bible is God's constitution to every believer and clearly prohibits the use of Christian freedom to any occasion for the flesh and worldly pleasures (Rom. 8:16; 13:13; Gal. 5:13; Tit. 2:11-15; 1 John 5:13).

Article VII

We believe that the Church is the body Christ, His bride. The Church is a spiritual organism made up of born-again believers (Eph. 1:22,23; 5:25-27; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2). We believe that the existence and establishment of the local churches here on earth as speculated in the New Testament Scriptures will continue (Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; Tit. 1:5-11). We believe and observe two important ordinances that were left by Jesus to the local church, water baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and the Lord's Table to commemorate, at least once a month. We believe in Church discipline as clearly stated in the New Testament Scriptures (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:41,46,47; 16:33; 1 Cor. 11:23; Matt. 18:15-20; Acts 5:1-11; I Cor. 5:1-13).

Article VIII

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, the believers to eternal life and the unbelievers to judgment and eternal punishment (Matt. 25:44; John 14:1-3; 1 Thes. 1:10; 4:13-17).

Article IX

We believe the second coming of Jesus Christ here on earth in order to to establish His kingdom. His second coming is literal, bodily and personal for His bride, the Church. We believe that the return of Christ is like a thief in the night (Matt. 24:27,30, 42-44; John 14:1-3; 1 Thes, 1:10; 4:13-17).

Article X

We believe that all the believers are missionaries and witnesses of Jesus Christ by life examples and word to the truths of the Holy Word of God, and must seek to preach the Gospel to all humanity, and to the making of disciples to all nations (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 6:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:19- 20).

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

The Professors of Shepherd's Hand School of Theology are aware that the school's educational mission is a family shared endeavor with the staff and officers. The students, their respective churches, and families are also participants in the ministry, However, our professors have a special responsibility for the direction of the process. It is our expectation that our trainers always uphold the values of our institution and commit to live out these values, proffesionally and relationary, with our students, This philosophy shall be rooted in and grow out of the theological commitments as specified in the, Statement of Faith.

In relationship to the Truth and education, we believe that God is truth, and all truth is Consistent with God's person, word and work, therefore any divine communication and action should be characterized with reliability, infallibility and consistency.

In relationship to the Truth and Life, we believe that truth is interrelated with thought and life, therefore as our students seek to draw into the learning process, thought and life should be harmonized with their experiences and behaviors.

In relationship to Science and Scripture. we believe that God is the creator of all things and sustains all that exists. Creation is Gods revelation, and it is our responsibility to make use of critical disciplines and study the insights being developed in the social and natural sciences. The Scriptures can make us wise unto salvation; therefore we are responsible to teach our students and all people of God's Word.

In relationship to all Human Beings, we believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image and likness, endowed with giftings, imagination, conscience, independent will and self-awareness, and fell into sin that affects all human race to become sinful in nature, but still God's image-bearer, and of infinite worth, therefore respect is due to every human being. Dishonoring with one another means, we are dishonoring God.

In relationship to the Great Commission, we believe that Jesus Christ commissioned His Church in three aspects: Evangelism, Discipleship, and Christian Education, therefore we are committed to the preaching of the Gospel, the making of disciples to all nations and the equipping of all the saints and students to prepare in the works of service. Thus, this School exists to serve the body of Christ and our instructional programs must abide in this reality.
