README for coffeetalk

coffeetalk 1.0 is a perl script that generates coffee drink names in
Starbucks style. It is free software under the GPL (however, see below).
This is my first nontrivial Perl program, so it might be useful to someone
as a learning exercise.

This program is voluntary shareware. I put considerable time and effort in
to it, and from those with the means to afford it I ask for US$5 or a half
pound/quarter kilo of coffee (arabica only, please, and something unusual
if you have it). If you can't afford it, I will understand, and all you
have to do is send me a nicely written thank you. To those who would like
to include this on a CD compilation or the like, I'd appreciate the
courtesy of a free copy of the compilation in question. Finally, I ask
that you consult me before distributing hacked versions of this software;
unless there are extenuating circumstances, I'd prefer to put hacked
versions in the standard distribution for the user to pick and choose.

To those who do contribute hacked coffeetalks: as long as you put the
necessary contact information, you're free to charge your own shareware
fees for your work, as long as I get credit for writing the original
program. (Hey, I come from a Mac background. The freeware community
doesn't work the same on this side of the fence.)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy hacking around with coffeetalk, and have fun with
it.
