MONTH 3
November 21, 2000
He is getting bigger and bigger everyday and is doing very well. As most of you know, he had his first plane ride last month. We all ventured back East for my cousin's wedding and his Christening. He did great on the plane ride, he even slept during some of the take-offs and landings. The whole trip back east was great too. I think over 50 different people held him and he did fine the whole time. Okay, maybe he had a few fussy moments

We dressed him up in a little suit for the wedding and he didn't make a peep during the ceremony (thank goodness). The next day was his Christening and I think he was the quietest one. It was wonderful to see all the family and we were able to take a four generation picture with Alexander, his parents (us), his two sets of grandparents and four great-grand parents. We'll never have that chance again and I'm glad we did it.
We started up his Kindermusik class last Thursday and I think he's going to do much better than he did last time. He seems to really enjoy it. We have six babies in our class this time, as opposed to two. It makes for a much more active class and the singing sounds so much better with more people.

I also joined the Bellingham MOMS Club last week. There are monthly meetings, playgroups and activities that can possibly keep you busy everyday if you wanted to. I've chosen to get involved in a playgroup (not that Alexander is ready to play yet, now it's more of a mother support group). I'm also slowly checking out some other activities with the club. It's a great way to meet other stay-at-home moms.
Alexander is starting to quite a bit of babbling and once I can get my computer's microphone to work I may try to send some sound clips. You can't make out any of what he's saying unless you use your imagination. He loves to have little conversations with people!

Last week I took him to get his first professional pictures (three month shots) and they didn't turn out as well as I hoped they would. But - there are plenty more chances for pictures. This Wednesday we are taking our first "family pictures". I want to send photo Christmas cards this year and I hope they turn out well. I'm worried that the outfit I bought for him last month is going to be too small. He really is looking like a little boy.
He loves to stand on his feet (while being supported by my fingers) and dance around. He prefers standing to sitting. I think maybe he can see more, who knows? I've tried putting him on his stomach to help him get the idea to roll-over, but he pitches a fit. He can push himself up a little, but that's about it. No hurry - it'll come.

I'm also very excited to say that he is sleeping pretty-much through the night. He goes down at about 11:00 and wakes up at 5:00. So if I get up at 5:00 for the day (he has slept through the night). If I choose to go back to bed for another 2-3 hours after feeding him, it's like I've only gotten up once. So - it's going okay.
Well, that about covers it.
