ZIMMERMAN by Jim Stout 25 March 1990 ------------------------------------------------ I used to think the name 'Anson ZIMMERMAN' was unique, but not any more! A message of 20 Mar 1990 lists an Anson G. ZIMMERMAN b 1854, wife Caroline ROSE. Although I can't positively identify any descendants, here are a couple of names that you might find interesting. Anson ZIMMERMAN, b 1 Nov 1881 Tilden Township, Berks Co, PA (son of Samuel ZIMMERMAN and Amanda MACHMER. Anson married Mary BURKHART and apparently lived all his life in Berks Co. He died in Shoemakersville, Berks County, Pa on 26 Dec 1968, buried in St. Lukes Cemetery. Right age to be a nephew of your Anson. My mother was born Evelyn Lois ZIMMERMAN, b 23 Aug 1913 in Canton, Fulton County, Illinois. She was adopted in infancy and her birth certificate was not acquired until many years later. The birth certificate shows the mother's maiden name as Jessie Ana HODGES whose family is well documented. The father's name is given as Anson Lyman ZIMMERMAN, age 30 (in 1913), born Marion, Indiana, employed as 'an attendant at Insane Asylum in North Dakota.' In many years of searching, I have not found a trace of my grand- father, Anson Lyman ZIMMERMAN. He would have been the right age to be your Anson's son. I'll keep your name high on my list of researchers. It's possible that two or all three of these Ansons are connected. Please, if you or anyone reading this message has any information on Anson Lyman ZIMMERMAN, my ageing mother would be thrilled to learn of it. Jim Stout / 500 W.
