YODER/LOBACH by Harry Yoder Fri May 3 1991 ------------------------------- My Christian Jotter and his brother came from Switzerland in 1742 and the families went up to Berks Co, PA. Christian's brother died on the way over, so the Christian Jotter (Yoder) family and his sister's widow, Barbara Yoder, and family became the base for all the Amish Yoders in America. There are some other Yoder lines going into other counties. I do not find Lobach in the Amish Mennonite Genealogies however. Nor do I see it in the Mennonite Family History. My Yoders moved in 1776 to Somerset County: Sweitzer Christian Yoder, Jacob Yoder - then Philip to Holmes Co, Oh and Miami Co, IN - then John P., Harry, Harry A, and myself. Apparently my immediate line is not the one in Lobackville. If you should want to trace any of those Yoders: write Chris Yoder, editor of the Yoder Newsletter, 203 Lakeshire Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015. They have a broader base than mine and are very helpful. Harry Yoder, 1422 Wealthy, S.
